Dillated CBD and polyps in GallBladder

Please refer attached reports based on which one of Surgeon suggested surgery to remove CBD and Gallbladder and then connect Liver directly to Small Intestine. Please help me out with below questions. 1. Does we really need Surgery to treat observations shown in attached USG and MRCP 2. Do we have any medication which can avoid Surgery 3. If there is no other option and we go for Surgery then what are future consequences by removing CBD and Gallbladder

Yes for the choledochal cyst, surgery is a must as it can turn into malignancy and is the reason for obstructive jaundice as well. In the surgery, whole dilated common bile duct is removed and then origin of the duct is joined with the intestines. There is no way that you can avoid the surgery. The earlier the better. Normally once the surgery is done there are no long term side effects. A person can have his normal routine life as usual.

You need to remove the cystic dilated common bile duct ( Choledochal cyst) . We do these surgery by laparoscopic approach ( key hole surgery)- Laparoscopic choledochal cyst excision and Hepatico - jejunostomy. Feel fee to ask any further quary related to this.
