Dear doctors, What is the difference between lattice degeneration and posterior vitreous detachment. Which is worse? What is the prognosis for both, especially when happening to someone in late 20s.

Hello Lattice is a degenerative change wherein retina is thin at point of lattice. Both are non dangerous ..in certain selected situations,lattice may require laser Having said that, regular retina examination is required

Lattice degeneration of retina is thinning of peripheral retina,it may or may not be progressive. And is most common cause of retinal detachment thus it's more dangerous than pvd.but both conditions may persist without any damage.
