In the immediate postoperative period, doctors usually advise for low iodine diet, especially for 2-4 weeks after surgery in patients planned for postoperative radioiodine therapy. This can be done by avoiding iodized salt, whole egg(egg yolk), sea food and dairy products. But post radioiodine scan one can eat a normal diet.
