hello ! as far as the research studies go till date HIV has only mucosal spread i.e contact of hiv infected persons body fluids like blood, saliva (if he or she has any mouth boils or sores), semen, precum, breast milk, vaginal fluids and infected syringes or surgical instruments with the mucosa of the uninfected person. there is no proper evidence till date for dermal spread i.e direct contact of the infected persons above mentioned body fluids with the skin unless if the uninfected person any ulcers or boils on the external skin. you have said that you had a wound, is the wound after contact of blood ? or you had wound priorly and had contact with the blood ? pls get checked with WESTERN BLOT and VIRAL LOAD TEST, both are very crucial to know the exact diagnosis given after ELISA to detect early infection.
