My mother uses Lurasidone hydrochloric tablets 80mg (previously Trapex 1mg & Oleanz 2.5mg) and this available only in one specific store recommended by doctor. My doubt is whether the luracid tabs are safe to use or not? Does this tabs leads to addiction? Please give a better solution to the problem and What is the difference in previously used tabs and luracid?

Hello there, lurasid tablets are the same class of medications as being used previously albeit with lower risk of side effects. These do not cause addiction. The reasons for change in medication could be many like poor control of illness by previous medication, higher side effects, change of symptoms over time, etc. Howsoever, the same can and should be discussed with the treating psychiatrist only.
Next Steps
kindly discuss your concerns with your treating psychiatrist.

Hello there. I can understand your concern. You should just continue the tablets suggested by your doctor. It's a good medicine. Consult a psychiatrist in person for further evaluation and management. Best regards. Dr. Anil Kumar Jain. Bangalore.
