Do the SSRIs increase dopamine levels in the brain for people suffering from MDD I read an article on a reputed side on Google which says that dopamine and serotonin both are responsible for depression where as SSRIs only increase the serotonin levels in the brains so if dopamine levels are not increased then how how will depression be treated please clarify.

SSRI primarily increase serotonin levels which is the usually the reason for depression. Its not necessary to increase all neurotransmitters. There are variety of antidepressants which increase different neurotransmitters, so dont worry let the medicines work their magic.

Serotonin is main neurotransmitter,so no need to worry,it definitely improves, no need to worry about dopamine
