U need to visit the dentist as soon as possible.  According to what u have described...  Seems like the tooth has decayed, has become hollow from the inside and that is the reason why it has cracked and the edges r sharp.  Hence, visit the dentist at the earliest so that he can save ur tooth by doing a filling / root canal.
