Delayed periods

My wife's period has been delayed by more than 12 days now and she delivered 14 months back. She is getting mouth ulcers, hence looks like heat. Getting bad cramps. We haven't tried for kid so will not be pregnancy. We need to attend one important family function this week. Not able to decide what to do. Can she take Primolut N for next 5 days. Pls advise
