Hyperpigmentation and flaring of acne is common during pregnancy. They usually reduce in the postpartum. If the problem still persists, it's always better to get a in person consultation with a dermatologist.

Hormonal changes during pregnancy often cause darkening of skin, pigmentation, acne, excessive oil production. No need to stress about it. Multiple treatments are available, depending upon the severity and present scenario (pregnant/ lactating/none).

Pregnancy hormones tend to induce pigmentation in almost all and acne in some mothers. Since you must be breastfeeding, the treatment will be milder, but you need not worry. Treatment is available.

Hello. Are you still pregnant ? Or you are post partum ? Hormonal changes during pregnancy can cause change in sign pigmentation and texture This Skin hyperpigmentation is a common occurrence during pregnancy, affecting up to 90% of pregnant women. The hormonal changes increase the production of melanin, the pigment that gives color to the skin. The most common areas affected by hyperpigmentation during pregnancy are the face, neck, and arms. No creams to be used in pregnancy Even during postpartum and lactation please use only what your dermatologist advises Usually this change fades away with time There are treatments under medical supervision only since not all of them are safe in pregnancy Topical treatments such as hydroquinone, azelaic acid, and kojic acid Other options are Laser therapy Chemical peels Protect your skin from sun Use sunscreen Cover face Use broad hat etc Cover arms when in sun Do not Stress Visit a dermatologist locally or book a teleconsult here and I will be more than glad to assist and guide as a medical professional. This is not a medical consultation and it’s for awareness only. Regards Dr H S Chauhan
