Are interstitial cystitis and cystitis same? Can nitrofurantoin treat both the conditions? What methods are used to diagnose?

Interstitial cystitis is a type of cystitis... nitrofurantoin is not the treatment for interstitial cystitis ..can be useful in some cases of cystitis
