Cut of top of foot not healing together

I cut the top of of my foot a week ago and was told I needed stitches, before they stitched the cut they wanted to check to see if the tendons to my big toe was damaged (the next day) then they let me go with just butterfly stitches. After a week the cut has still not healed together as the strips had stretched away letting the cut to open. What would be the best thing to do now?
