I've been having a cough for about 4 months it first started off as a dry cough and i felt like something is stuck in my throat about 1 1/2 months ago it turned into a cough with excessive white mucus that I'm constantly having to spit out what could this be

It may be due to some minor viral infection initially for which some debility occurred. So as an offshoot some throat inflammation persisted which continued due to debility . Also for some not so prominent infections vitamin deficiency occurs. So white mucous is generated.
