It is likely that your wife may be allergic and on exposure to allergen is causing the cough to occur. I would advise you to meet a MD general physician so that she can be assessed physcially and undergo investigations such as AEC, X-ray, etc. to find the underlying cause and have it treated accordingly. She may require antihistamines.
