Continuous Dry Cough for kid for 2 days.

My 4 year boy is having severe dry cough and he continuously coughs. He had fever for 3 days, the paediatrician said he had throat infection with fever and prescribed, calpol for fever, macburry, allegra and advent forte syrups for 5 days. Please suggest ways to soothe him.
