Febuxostat lowers uric acid only while you are taking it. it does not permanently cure the problem. When the medicine was stopped, your body again started producing or retaining more uric acid, so the level increased. Diet control alone is often not enough because most uric acid is produced inside the body, not from food. That is why uric acid can rise again despite a strict vegetarian, low-purine diet. Long-term treatment or monitoring should be decided by your doctor.
