Hi, I get cold sores for as long as I can remember. I’m just wondering if it is at all possible for the virus to live outside of the body. I’ve read it doesn’t I used a pin to pierce my coldsore months ago - as it was a huge blister. Then the other day I used to the same Pin to dig out an ingrown hair somewhere else. Is it at all possible for the virus to have lived for so many months on that but of metal?
