Kids are usually operated under whole body Anaesthesia. Above that local blocks are given as well. So be assured its almost hundred percent painless for babies.

As your son's age is 6Y, procedure will be done under General (complete) Anesthesia, So there will be no pain at all during procedure. Post procedure pain will be present for 1-2 days that should eventually subside.
