Chronic phlegm cough
I've had a cough for the better part of the past four years. It produces a greenish yellow phlegm and I've had chest x-rays and all sorts of things but have never had an answer. I use an inhaler that helps the cough sometimes but there is still so much phlegm
Hello ! You seem to have chronic bronchitis with intermittent infection. You need to be on regular Inhalers atleast for 2-3 months and right choice of antibiotic for your Infection .Apart from chronic bronchitis, few other diseases can also present with recurrent cough with phlegm . Hence , If your x rays failed to show the cause for your recurrent symptoms you might need to go for a Pulmonary Function Test or a CT thorax, as indicated after detailed evaluation.
