Chronic barking cough & freq. infections
Hi! I'd like more information about Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia. I have a complex medical history but, in a nutshell, have have recurring chest, throat and sinus infections since a young age. Deviated septum surgery in 2013 didn't help. Various allergy and asthma medications haven't helped. Also had allergy tests before deviated septum surgery but no significant results. Chronic barking cough for at least 6 years. Diagnosed with bronchiectasis in 2016. Immunoglobulin tested to see if I'm deficient and hence always sick, but was clear. I am 26, do not smoke or drink,eat healthily and exercise frequently when healthy. Only other health problem is haemachromatosis which was diagnosed in 2006 amnd is under management. PCD seems like it may be worth looking into? But I don't know how to approach it without seeming like I'm telling my doctor how to do his job

The symptoms you have stated is pointing towards ciliary dyskinesia.
In this disease the parts of the body where there is lining of the cilia that is affected,like nose,respiratory pathway,lungs ,bronchioles etc.
This disease is genetic and causes dyskinesia or decreased motility of the cilia and hence results in decreased excretion of secretions causing the symptoms.
As of now u need to visit a physician and take a better counseling for the disease .They can guide u better.and take symptomatic treatment.
