Multiple tight blockages are definitely an apt indication for bypass surgery. And if your cardiologist thinks that bypass is appropriate for you then it’s better to follow his advice. With recent advances in technique and instruments, the bypass surgery has become much safer than earlier. So don’t get too much scared.
All the available reliable current evidence including large international studies DO NOT convincingly support the benefits of chelation therapy. The therapy is based on the assumption that the blockages in the heart vessels contain
calcium with which the chelating agent (EDTA) binds and washes it out of the body. But a significant proportion of the blockage consists of other components like cholesterol, blood cells etc. So the basic concept itself is wrong. Also, it has been shown to have many serious side effects like dangerous reduction in calcium & blood pressure,
kidney damage, heart failure, bone marrow damage etc.
Hence please do not delay the appropriate therapy by falling prey to this unproven form of treatment. Please discuss all this with your doctor and properly follow his advice.
Thanks. Hope this helps.
