After my left ear operation..stapes..I am feeling change in my sense of taste... Can it be recovered???

Nerve carrying taste sensation need to be sacrificed during stapes surgery sometime..or during manipulations it might have been stretched..in both the conditions taste sensation altered.. sometime recovery occurs . sometime not..
