Medications are never the cure of dental problems. They will subside the symptoms temporarily which are bound to come back sometimes even with a higher intensity. It would be a very honest advice to tell you to avoid taking painkillers for such a long time and visit a dentist earlier than Saturday. Pain Killers like any other medication will carry their own Side Effects as well. Going by the description that you have mentioned it seems that your tooth is affected by Irreversible pulpitis and will require root canal treatment. The first sitting of root canal treatment will eliminate the pain to a very considerable extent and will avoid the use of medications which is the practically desirable approach towards this problem. Otherwise pain Killers like ketorol DT can provide substantial pain relief for some time. Regards.
