Carpet Burn Infected On My Knee!

During drama, someone pushes me really hard and i got a carpet burn on my knee and i didnt clean it the day i got it and a few days later i got these pimple looking things near my carpet burn with yellow liquid coming out from it if you squeeze it. I went to the doctor they said its infected and gave me antiseptic cream and capsules to take 4 times a day. I was wondering when will it go and is it something serious, im so scared and it looks so gross. Do i put a bandage? When will it go? Thanks
