Can u take plan b ovulating/near ovulati

I was just wondering if you can take plan b while ovulating or near ovulation because I took it on day 12 of my cycle within the 72 hour frame but I keep seeing mixed answers like yes you can or no it wont work I didn't get semen inside of me or have unprotected sex but I'm concern about pre cum I don't think he had that but I took plan b just incase
