As it's the lowermost part of the spine it's disturbed only in sitting position. If sitting is unavoidable, you can use special seats with recess on the tail bone area so that weight isn't loaded. If pain and soreness prevails you may place a guaze pad soaked with well stirred glycerine magnesium sulphate paste in the tail area during night time. Ice packs application for around 10 minutes, while in side lying and knees bent and taken to chest will also help in reducing the soreness. Avoid squatting and vigorous physical activities for another three weeks. It may take almost three months for symptoms to fade.
