I have 20months old baby, and I have intestinal infection, Taking antibiotics amoxicillin, azee, superspas, metrokam 400 and gelusil... I didn't think much and I was breastfeeding the baby... is it ok to continue to breastfeed ?

Acc to data, Because of potential for tumorigenicity shown for metronidazole in mouse and rat studies, a decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or to discontinue drug, taking into account importance of drug to mother; alternatively, a nursing mother may choose to pump and discard human milk for duration of metronidazole therapy, and for 24 hours after therapy ends
