Braces and removal
2 twisted incisors, and 1 tooth with a 1mm overlap. I have been going to dentists from the age of 7, have had consulted 13 dentists till date, got all teeth by 14. After i turned 24, 3 different doctors told me to get braces done but 18 months = deal breaker. A dentist said 11 months without extraction, but that seemed long too. Finally a doctor said 8 months with extraction of 4 tooth. 8 months made sense so i went ahead. After 4 months, she said it would take a year. I was upset, but she said she will finish it faster. After a year i wanted the braces off, she wouldnt remove but say it would take 2 more months. It is two years now, the teeth are all fixed but i have a 2 mm gap from the extraction on one side. I am not willing to keep this on any longer, i have cleared the full 35k amount a year back. I have trust issues with the dentist, i would like to get the braces removed, get retainers and some kinda fix for the gap. Can you help.

See what ever might be the past, bit at the end stage if you get off the braces that gap will not close rather it will give problem with alignment of the teeth in your future rather you get it closed than get the retainers done.
As that gap may act like food lodgement space because of that decay will occur on adjust teeth, the either side can tilt little bit it will cause problem I'm chewing later. So many years you waited wait for few more months which she had promised you.
Before starting treatment we can predict how much time it might take to complete treatment but cant assure it will happen in that time limits only. it's a human body each persons body responds in a different way to treatment.
