Hello, Usually major bone loss does not take place after orthodontic treatment . But the fibres attaching the tooth to socket get degenerated. It takes 3 to 6 months for proper regenration of bone and the fibres to get back. So for 6 months retention appliance is mandatory to prevent from relapse. Just know the cause of bone loss and check if there is major bone loss.
