Body Itching in Pregnancy

My wife is pregnant with 9th month just starting. From last few days her hands and feet and itching terribly. Our regular doctor is not able to provide solution for it. They are saying its because of heat and given cream is not effective at all. Shes not able to sleep in the night. Please suggest a treatment.
