I've been having dry cough for the last two weeks and since last 4 days when I clear my throat in the morning I see thick streaks of blood coming out with sputum... Should I be concerned? Note: I'm a smoker for 3 years now and stopped since this development.

It might be due to mild mucosal trauma to the pharynx due to vigourous cough.use cough syrup and see.  If again blood is present consider endoscopy to find out any pathological lesions.
