Bleeding not stopping

I am 49 years old. I've been menstruating since two months after a gap of 1 year, though just spotting. But since a week now the flow is very high where I need to change my double padding 5-6 times a day. My gynaecologist had advised me to take Pause 500 which I've been taking twice daily since the last 3 days. But there is no improvement in my condition. Please help.
