From last two weeks my mother started facing these issues. There are black spots on the corner of finger nails as can be seen in the image. There is no itching, no pain or other associated complaints. What could be the reason? How to cure it? Is there anything serious?

This might be fungal infection which might be chronic this is not something very serious this might be because of excessive dipping  of hands in water
