Black fungus query

I was diagnosed with covid postive and i had mild pneumonia with ct score 7. I was treated at home and from 23 april i was on methylpredinole steriod. Now i am recovered . my cough and spo2 is now normal. No fever. No history of any disease and diabetes. But i am afraid hearing of this black fungus as i was on steriod. Can if affect as it been one month. And some time i feel a very mild heaviness in my sinus area.

Mucormycosis has a very dramatic and intense presentation which progresses rapidly . The main symptoms are worsening nasal block , bleeding , crust formation and eye problems like double vision and eye swelling . Your symptoms don’t suggest mucor .

MUCORMYCOSIS is a fungal infection, very common after proponged use of steroids as a part of covid treatment protocol. In ur case i dont feel so bcz of the milder symptoms u r having. Using steroid may affect ur immunity that may b the reasn fr ur sinusitis like secondary infections. No need to worry . Take online ENT consultation for further queries
