I believe you were not properly counseled before your previous surgery! Otosclerosis is an incurable disease which begins by demineralising the ear ossicles and gradually progresses into the cochlea and ultimately completely destroys it along with your hearing!
The surgery only bypasses the damaged ossicles in early otosclerosis by replacing them with a piston. Remember, even after the surgery, the disease continues to progress and usually by the 15-20th year, you end up completely deaf!
I suggest you get a High resolution CT scan of the Temporal Bones to evaluate the progression of the disease! If it has invaded the cochlea, I am afraid, there is nothing to be done about it. BEST OPTION: Use bone conduction hearing
aids to transfer the sound signals incident onthe Right Ear to the better hearing Left Cochlea.
