Dear Parent,
I can empathize with your situation as it can be a stressful as a parent to see your six your old girl go through psychological difficulties.
Based on the information you have provided, your child may be having a anxious temperament or nature and this event could have made her traumatized considering her anxious temperament.
She may be having additional childhood phobias developing. She may have felt abandoned psychologically for those brief moments and would have not been able to find you around could have triggered anxiety in the child.
Kindly understand that if there is prior history of being anxious then she may be having an underlying child hood anxiety symptoms or disorder which needs detailed evaluation. Specific phobias such as fear of ghosts, fear of dark, fear of being alone are common in children.
Moreover considering the symptoms building up and her situation worsening over these six days; I think her anxiety is worsening psychologically. Moreover there may be many other factors such as negative events at home; school; friends; etc which need to be evaluated in detail which could be contributing to her symptoms. As you have already tried to talk to her and it is not working; I suggest that you consult a psychiatrist at the earliest for your child. The psychiatrist shall clinically evaluate your child ; shall talk to your child; shall talk to you as parents and counsel your child and you as parents as well. The psychiatrist may advice some psychological tests for your child to elicit more about her conflicts; fears; anxiety;,etc. The psychiatrist shall do some child psychotherapy to reduce her anxiety and teach her relaxation exercises . The psychiatrist shall provide your parental guidance as well on handling such behaviours. With few sessions of therapy ; your child shall improve . Considering your age of the child; and based on severity of symptoms ; the psychiatrist may suggest some medicine for your child anxiety based on expert for short term use if symptoms appear very severe clinically in the evaluation session . Play based sessions can also be helpful. Kindly discuss your concerns as parents with the psychiatrist about various options of treatment for your child.
