Pneumonia vaccine can be taken now. Prevenar 13>> Synflorix> Pneumosil. Baby has a very weak immune system in first 6 to 9 months of age. Mother provides the initial immunity to the child. That transfer occurs through placenta before birth and later on while breastfeeding. Breastfeeding provides natural immunity to child against infection. From infancy to 5 years of age, child gets acquired immunity by getting community acquired infection to remain protected throughout life. For several other dangerous infections, there are vaccines to protect the child.
