My son 5months old and i am using similac milk powder from his birth.a pediatrician in chennai said that it is used for babies having diarrhea.Is it true??

Hello....... You should only breastfeed the baby till 6 months of life, exclusive breastfeeding... Artificial feeds don't provide immunity as normal breast milk , so baby is prone for infection... That's why baby might be having diarrhea.... Consult pediatrician in nearest hospital.
