Babies weight
My toddler (15months) is about 12.9kg and the doctor says he is in obesity range now . Doctor suggested that we work on his diet and encourage more physical activities ( my toddler is very active ) .
May I know what is the concern here ? Why is doctor suggesting this?

A 15 month old should ideally be around 9.5 to 11.5kg. 12.9kg comes above the 97th percentile of growth standard, which suggests that the child is over weight. Most common causes like hypothyroidism and endogenous obesity need to be evaluated in the child.
