If surgery risk for that particular patient is low then AVR surgery can be possible at this age too.. TAVR.. transcutaneous aortic valve replacement..will be best option for the patient at this age..it's done from groin ..

There are various scores to calculate the risk and benefit of any surgery. However generally it is safe to do AVR at this age. There is another latest treatment which is called as Tavi or TAVR where valve is replaced through groin without surgery just like angioplasty.

Depends on the risk scoring and comorbidities. Alternatively a newer form of therapy called transcatheter aortic valve replacement or tavi a non invasive procedure could also be opted for in certain cases.
