When drinking, you generally have the most control before you take your first drink. What I would suggest to try and understand and control the first drink you have before you have it and make the subsequent drinking easier. Alcohol is of course an addictive substance and beating it can be difficult and dangerous. I would recommend talking to a therapist to see if you are able to get it under control yourself or to see if you need to be in a deaddiction facility to get the help you need.
Next Steps
Alcoholism can take a major toll on your life if left unchecked and needs to be addressed in the same way: A change in lifestyle. A therapist or counselling consultation can help you identify what triggers you to drink and to make adjustments to your lifestyle to reduce and end your drinking.
Health Tips
Importantly, I would seek medical attention before quitting on your own. Based on how often you drink, the severity of withdrawal can be dangerous when stopping drinking immediately and abruptly.
