Drinking is never safe. And drinking 3 large pegs is not moderate drinking. Then other factors need to be considered like does he drink alone or in the company So the earlier he gets out of it the better it is of others.

standard drink size is 330 ml for beer, 30 ml for hard alcohol (whiskey, gin etc) and 150 ml for wine (red or white). sticking to no more than six to seven standard drinks per week for men. It is considered to be less harmful (but there is still a risk)
Next Steps
So as per standard norms.. You need NOT panic.. as your husband is in LOW RISK category!

2-3 pegs what he is taking is little more... Drinking is not a safe thing, ask him try to decrease the quantity and stop alcohol.... U have mentioned his height and weight according to that his BMI is more, if he continues to drink he might develop other complications.. So better to stop ethanol.
