Unfortunately yes! Your son underwent a conventional adenoidectomy which is a blind procedure where sometimes some tissues may be left behind which regrow and occlude the nasopharynx. He needs to undergo microdebrider assisted or coblation assisted adenoidectomy which is much safer and ensures a complete removal. It is however much more expensive due to the technologies involved and the consumables used.
