Hello, Acute transverse myelitis is acute inflammation of gray and white matter in one or more adjacent spinal cord segments, usually thoracic. Causes include multiple sclerosis, neuromyelitis optica, infections, autoimmune or postinfectious inflammation, vasculitis, and certain drugs. It is not always easy to find the cause for this. With proper supportive treatment usually Recovery from transverse myelitis begins within two months of the onset of symptoms and can continue for up to two years. People usually make the best recovery between three and six months after the onset of symptoms. A good or full recovery is possible even after severe symptoms.
