Currently PEP is not recommended. However do get HCV RNA and HEP C antibodies tests done for both you and the patient if possible. Then get regular testing as the protocol. The chances of transmission are low, 0.3%, but a lot of it depends on category of exposure.
Maintain your calm. If detected early and treated prompty, HCV can be treated as an acute hepatitis and prevented from becoming chronic and causing further complications.
