Sometimes we build up expectations and when they are not met we feel lost and hopeless. In such situations it happens that you won't notice the other opportunities that you have. You should meet and talk to a professional, either a psychiatrist or a psychologist who will help you come out of this phase. Also it is important that you be evaluated for depression. Sometimes there are signs of depression which are hard to notice but very common in such situations.
