I want to know the need/ importance of getting AC serviced to prevent respiratory issues. I have a toddler and old parents living with me. And one of my friends recently told me that using an air conditioner without getting it serviced can lead to breathing related illnesses in young kids. Is this true? Can someone help? What about asthma? Am I or my family at risk of developing asthma also? How does not getting AC serviced impact old parents? Mine are 80+. Please help, I am worried.

Yes definitely ac should be serviced periodically.  You may get some atypical respiratory infections or even allergies too..
