Hi Sir If both the arches were treatment then the doctor should give you retainers for both. Or fixed retention,by lingual wire (which is placed for wire from inside surface of tooth) Consult your doctor Regards Dr Parul Rai

Generally, 2 retainers at given. A fixed wire retainer on the inner side of the upper and lower front 6-8 teeth and a removable retainer for both, upper as well as lower arch as teeth have a tendency to move very quickly from their new position after orthodontist treatment.
Next Steps
Immediately consult your orthodontist for the same

Usually braces are put on both Jaws. So the retainers are also given for both the Jaws. May be you have a removable retainer for upper jaw and a fixed retainer on lower jaw. Please confirm with your doctor. That will be more helpful
