Dear Ma'am, Thank you for your query regarding early pregnancy complications. Spotting or bleeding at 6 weeks may be a cause of concern for this pregnancy. Is your date for the last menstrual period accurate? Most of the fetal cardiac activity can be picked up earliest at 6 weeks. The best course,  would be to determine 2 serial b HCG titres and repeat an ultrasound next week and then take a decision on viability of the pregnancy. Speak to your treating Obstetrician regarding the options available for treatment. If heavy bleeding, occurs an emergency consult would be required. Regards, Aditi
