First , Ultrasound has to be done to locate pregnancy ( to make sure it is in uterus) which can be done at 5weeks pregnancy at the earliest. Upto 6 weeks , Tablets can be used for the purpose Before that, she has to get  lab tests done to make sure her general condition is fit enough to tolerate the blood loss which would result like complete blood picture, blood group and type , etc.
