Abdominal pain problem
Hello Dr,
This query is regarding about my sister in law. It starts from her abdominal pain then normal vomiting, which leads to her normal life into chaos. Sometimes her period got delayed for 1 month. We have consulted to our doctor he has prescribed medications such as Pantodac dsr, Drotin m and Mahacef tablet.
It happens to her once or twice in a month.
Please tell us what more we should do?

Hi there! I really won’t be able to help you much without detailed history and examination of the patient. From what you have described to me there is a possibility of:
1. Dysmenorrhea: which is pain during the menses
2. Endometriosis: which is cyclical bleeding anywhere but not endometrium, most commonly in the ovaries
3. Others like renal stones etc.
For dysmenorrhea there is no test as such; however we must rule out the possibility of Endometriosis/stones by getting an ULTRASOUND.
